Ez a biztatás szól nekünk is Jeremiástól, aki nemcsak a fogságba hurcolt nép visszajövetelét jövendöli meg, hanem számunkra is elhozza ennek a célhoz jutásnak az ígéretét.
Sokszor gondolkozom azon, hogy mire indít a sírás embereket. Indíthat hálára, indíthat áldásra, de ugyanúgy indíthat átokra is. Milyen jó, hogy itt arról tud beszámolni a próféta, hogy fohászkodik a nép, azaz kérnek valamit attól az Istentől, aki folyamatosan kapcsolatban volt/van velük. Könyörögnek hozzá, hogy a megígért üdvösséget megtapasztalhassák. Imádkoznak hozzá, hogy a könnyük ne folyjon hiába, hogy a sírásuk ne legyen meghallgatás nélküli. És nem az.
Nem az, mert Isten vezeti őket. Ezek a szavak biztosan ott szerepelnek a Szentírás legtermészetesebb szókapcsolatai között: „miközben vezetem őket” – mintha mi sem lenne természetesebb: az ég kék, a fű zöld, az Isten vezet. Milyen jó, hogy nem azt olvassuk, hogy „ha rám figyelnek, akkor vezetem őket”, vagy „ha ezt és azt megteszik, akkor vezetem őket”, hanem teljesen magától értődően és egyértelműen – mindenféle feltétel nélkül –hangzik el ez a kapcsolatot megerősítő kijelentés: „miközben vezetem őket”.
Ebben a 2020-as esztendőben talán ezt a természetességet nem kellene elfelejtenünk. Azt a természetességet, hogy Istennel ilyen természetes kapcsolatban lehetünk. Akkor is, ha még 7-8 hónapja sem tudtuk elképzelni, hogy maszkban járunk bevásárolni, vagy könyökérintéssel helyettesítjük a kézfogást. Ezek az érintkezési formák, társadalmi szokások változhatnak egy világjárvány következményeként, de Istennel való kapcsolatunk nem. Az marad ugyanolyan természetes.

Szeret, és azt akarja, hogy nekünk üdvösségünk legyen. Egy más helyen (a Siralmakban) olvassuk szintén Jeremiásnál, hogy azért nincs még végünk, mert nem fogyott el az Úr irgalma – szeret bennünket. Az Újszövetségben pedig Pál azt írja Timóteusnak, hogy Isten azt akarja, hogy minden ember üdvözüljön és eljusson az igazság megismerésére. Hiszem, hogy itt nemcsak egyszerűen az igazságra gondol, hanem az Igazságra. Arra, aki magáról is azt mondta, hogy ő az igazság az út és élet mellett. Hiszem, hogy Isten azt akarja, hogy eljussunk Jézus megismerésére. Mert akkor őt is megismerjük.
Megismerjük, hogy ő olyan, aki folyóvízhez vezet bennünket. Nem kiszáradt medrekhez, nem szikkadt völgyhöz, hanem életet adó vízhez. Élő vízhez. Ahol valóban életet találhatunk. Új életet. Fogságból hazatérve, vagy bűneinkből megtérve.
Az pedig már szinte túlzás, hogy ezen az úton nem is botladozva járhatunk. Ehhez tényleg az a kapcsolat kell, ami talán nem is enged emlékezni arra, hogy bizony vannak nehezebben megtehető lépések, sőt, ha a szívünkre tesszük a kezünket, akkor talán még botlás is lehet benne. De talán úgy vagyunk ezzel, mint amikor valóban olyannal sétálok, akit nagyon szeretek. Legyen ez a feleségem, az anyám, vagy a gyerekem, vagy bárki, akit nagyon szeretek. Ha vele megyek egy úton, nem arra fogok emlékezni, hogy megbotlottam útközben, hanem hogy együtt eljutottunk A-ból B-be, és milyen jó volt vele megélni azt a természetes szeretetet. Így nem fogok arra sem emlékezni, hogy megbotlottam, amikor Istennel járok. Mert nem az lesz a fontos, hanem az a természetes szeretet, amit együtt megélünk.
